What Goes Up, Must Come Down
The Beaujolais Run® 2023 with the working title “What Goes Up, Must Come Down” launched last night on the Daylesford Estate in the Cotswold, by kind permission of Lord and Lady Bamford. E-type, Ferrari, Aston Martin and Alpine rubbed noses with daily drives and other classics. ‘Runners were treated with a sensory trip to Provence, as Chateau Léoube’s wines were showcased by Managing Director, Anthony Gordon. Not only was the delicious, familiar rosé poured but also white wines and two vintages of Léoube Collector. The latter reds, at winemaker Romaine Ott’s hand, rivalling the Super Tuscans and Wines of Bordeaux. Boards of estate cheeses, charcuterie and artisan breads made for an authentic Southern French theme even in the Cotswolds in November! Spirits were high and the atmosphere electric with expectation. The evening left the crews ready to take on whatever the next day had in store now having had revealed their start location for the following morning.
