Southbound to Burgundy
It was with trepidation crews sat on the startline of Champagne Taittinger as they awaited their cryptic clues that would take them South through various checkpoints to Parc Fermé in Burgundy via their chosen shortest route. Along the way, suprise experiences had been laid on for them with various friends of the 'Run.
There were more smiles upon arrival in Beaune this evening and a glass of Burgundy to celebrate completing the first leg. It was then private carriages, to join Jean-Phillipe Archambaud Burgundian wine making star at the Domaine de Philipe Hardi.
Baron Philipe Hardi controlled Burgundy and he mandated that the red grape of Burgundy should be Pinot Noir. With two cellars and a cutting edge winery hidden beside the twelfth century Chateau, 'Runners declared it 'fairytale.' After a tour of the cellars, and a fun tasting, the wine flowed and dinner became noisy a sthe 'Run made the chateau it's own.
