Crews assembled last night for the preview night of The Beaujolais Run® 2019 - 'The Great Escape'.
Sir Peter Michael's Donington Valley Hotel, was the scene for the opening drinks and canapé reception of the 2019 event. The usual eclectic mix, the 'Run is renown for was on display in the hotel's car park... Super cars, 'daily drives' and classic cars were all represented. Beautiful metal ranged from the New McLaren GT, Porsche 911's and Ferrari 488 and ranged across a wide variety of marques, including a lightweight E Type Jaguar. Excitement was in the air with plenty of other vehicles heading for France to repatriate the first harvest . At the 'business end' of the 'Run, Toyota's two RAV 4's awaited their crews and tasks for the work. On many minds, were those who 75 year's ago that undertook 'The Great Escape' and the number of people that had been ably ssisted by the Royal Air Force Benevolent Fund in it's 100 years of existence. Crews learned of tsome heir first opening day suprises before heading to France to repatriate the 2019 harvest.
